DNa fingerprinting
DNA Fingerprinting is a way of identifying an individual. DNA
Fingerprinting, also known as DNA typing, is the process of extracting DNA and
making sequences of DNA. The technique of DNA typing was invented by Alec
Jefferys in1984. He that certain DNA repeated itself and did not contribute to
the function of the gene; he also noticed that no two people had the same
pattern of DNA with the exception of identical twins.
The process of creating a DNA fingerprint starts with getting a
sample of DNA, through skin, blood, or hair, then extracting the DNA, and
purifying it. An early use of DNA printing was for legal disputes and is still
used to determine paternity.
